These days we hear more and more about school and district accountability. Our children are constantly reminded that if they do not perform well in all areas of school, all the time they are a disappointment.
When we speak about a child having difficulties do not assume there is always a learning disability. There very well may be a teacher, parent or leadership disability.
Since standards are the way our children are assessed we need to also hold the educational leaders and teacher accountable for their standards. Did you know they had them? They do. Go to the Commission on California Teaching Credentials for more information on beginning teacher standards.
